ABOUT
What does a house look like it's worth?
We all have an instinct for what things are worth.
But with real estate, that judgment is usually anchored by location, listing price, comps, schools, and everything else we know about the market.
So we take those things away.
Every day, everyone sees the same set of houses with the same basic information, but not where they are or what they cost.
You decide what you think each one is worth.
Then you see what everyone else thought.
THE IDEA
This isn't a test of how well you know real estate markets.
It's an experiment in perception.
When thousands of people look at the same house with the same information and independently assign it a value, those judgments create a picture of perceived value.
How much do we agree?
How different is your judgment from everyone else's?
Which homes look more valuable than they actually sell for? Which look like a bargain?
There isn't necessarily a right answer. The actual sale price is a reference point.
The interesting part is what we thought before we knew it.
HOW IT WORKS
Look. Appraise. Compare.
Study the house. Make your judgment. Lock in your price.
Then see where you landed compared with everyone else. Finally, see what the house actually sold for.
